PRESIDENT'S PROFILE

Ted Tyczka is the founder, owner and President of Golden Mile Management - Consulting Services. The firm is a full-service, Human Resource, Organizational Development and Career Transitioning Consulting Firm that provides external Human Resource support programs, processes and customized outsourced solutions to numerous client organizations based in the northeast quadrant of the Greater Toronto Area, as well as across Canada and the United States.

Earlier in his career, Ted was appointed to the position of Director of Human Resources for a major Canadian Corporation within 2 years of his graduation from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. After a few years in this position, Ted was recruited by a Management Consulting Firm, where he worked as a key member of a progressive Human Resources Consulting practice supporting numerous North American and global clients. The firm was located in downtown Toronto.

With his flair for entrepreneurship, independence and vision together with a dream to own his own business, Ted founded Golden Mile Management - Consulting Services in Scarborough, Ontario in 1986.

In the mid 90’s, Ted was invited to manage a National Canadian Industry Association and to represent this group as its Executive Director for a period of 5 years while concurrently operating Golden Mile Management - Consulting Services. He expanded the association from 7 member companies to a vibrant, fully participative 35 member organization during a business climate of recession and global industry compression. As Executive Director, Ted chaired meetings with the Association’s Board of Directors, routinely interfaced with Provincial and Federal Governments, facilitated numerous Marketing and Technical Committee meetings across Ontario and Canada, while also interfacing with counterpart organizations in the United States.

Ted’s academic background includes: Doctoral studies in Human Resources and Organizational Development. He also obtained a Masters Degree, which he completed at the University of Toronto. In addition to these programs, Ted acquired an Honours B.A. and Bachelors Degree in Education at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.

While completing his education at Queen’s, Ted played for the 1978 Queen’s University - National Football Champion - Golden Gaels, achieving All Star recognition during his final two seasons with the Team. His athletic endeavours resulted in professional tryouts with two of the best Teams in the Canadian Football League at the time (in 1979 with the Montreal Alouettes and in 1980 with the Edmonton Eskimos) during their Grey Cup Championship seasons in this era. An unfortunate sports injury at training camp indirectly accelerated Ted towards a successful career in Human Resources…ultimately managing his own firm, enjoying his passion for...assisting organizations, Senior Executives and individual clients as a progressive Human Resource Professional.
